Uglies

I've been wanting to buy the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld. It was in my cart at Amazon and everything. I was very surprised to find the last book in the series at Goodwill last week, I still thought I would have to buy the book set but I picked it up because it was only 75 cents and I figured I could figure out something to do with it. Fast forward a few days and I convince Andy to take me to the same Goodwill because we're in town and I find the first book, Uglies, what luck. On Wednesday before Kids Kloset I decide to stop at another goodwill on the way there since I'm early. There wasn't much there but I decided to go through the books again to see if I missed anything and I find the third book without the dust cover. I am just thrilled to have found these books. For $2.00 I now own Uglies, Specials, and Extras I just need to find Pretties which I may have to buy new but I can deal with that.

Uglies in in rough shape but still perfectly readable, Specials is missing it's dust cover, is a little bent and has a small dent but Extras is in perfect condition. This is the kind of thing that keeps me going back to Goodwill. Sure they are not valuable but to me they saved me 20 bucks because I was eventually going to buy them anyways.

New Books

I recieved an order from amazon.com yesterday. You can get great deals there if you look in the bargain book section. I got alittle young adult book haul. Here is what I got.

I also went to Sam's club a few days ago and picked up a few books.

I read Wake yesterday and I liked it but it almost didn't seem like a whole book, I'm glad I have Fade to read today. I can't wait to start The Vampire Acadamy books. I've read great things about them.

Hunter's snow day

This was a week or so ago, it was finally warm enough to go outside and enjoy all this snow we have. Hunter had lots of fun playing.

Goodwill books

One of my pleasures is buying books at goodwill. It is the combination of getting a good book and getting a great deal on it that makes me crazy happy. These are the books that I found last week. I found a ton but when I see something that interests me I grab it, if I start reading it and don't like it I just send it back to goodwill. At my goodwills paperbacks are 50 cents and hard covers are 75 cents. I purchased these at 3 different goodwills.

Several of the books in the second picture are young adult novels, I enjoy reading those because I can usually read the whole thing in one day, it's immediete gratification. I have more books that I bought this week that I will share in a few days. Plus I'm expecting an order from amazon soon. I'm in book heaven.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Katie, I am a housewife. This blog will be about what I am making, doing, and reading. For now it will be a mixture of thrift, book, diy, decorating, and crafting blog. Pretty much whatever I want to write about I guess. This is the first blog I have ever done so I'm sure there will be a learning curve to it, I hope I can stick to it.
